Our poor bailey is going in for his first operation tomorrow to cure his limp/elbow dysplasia. We want him fixed but its sad to see the little fella charging around today, knowing tomorrow he will be in a fair bit of pain
![]() We really hoped it was Pano, but he has been limping about for 5-6 weeks now, and having seen 4 vets, then the specialist, we feel we are doing the right thing (though, not for my bank account ) Will post again with (positive, we hope) results. But 6 weeks on the lead will not please our rabbit/duck/pigeon/pig chasing little basset!![]()

Bailey is so handsome! Hope all goes well. O's surgery went well, so I have faith in Bailey's going smoothly, too

Good luck for tomorrow Bailey, we're thinking of ya
![]() Hope the op goes well and the recovery isn't too painful. If it works it'll all be worth it. Healing drool and belly rubz being flung in preparation. |

He's beautiful! He'll hurt for a little while after the surgery, but then his pain is done, and the worry will be over. Give him a good cuddle for me.

Well he is home. He is sleeping at the moment, but occasionally wakes up and crys so loudly, its horrible. The specialist xray him before, and said that the ulna bone was 5mm shorter than the other bone, which seems massive considering the length of his little bones. He had an xray after too and the vet said that the bone had moved up already, and was really pleased with the results already.
We now have him bandaged for one week, and short 5 min lead walks 3 times a day for 6-8 weeks. I have a feeling we are in for a rough week with him, but hope he improves quickly, because he is looking very very sorry for himself at the mo. All very sad. |
