A whole third of the people I follow on Instagram - and I'm following 93 people - are Basset owners. Just a little over that are dog owners in general.

Hardly any of my friends back home have even met Olive, yet I write about her and post photos of her so often that any time someone finds a meme of a Basset Hound, it is either posted to my wall or I am tagged in it.

My friend found this cutie on Craigslist and had to let me know. What a tease, huh?






I also sent Olive's pic in to upsidedowndogs.com when she was little and in May they posted it.

Nearly all of my Facebook friends have bassets - in fact, if you try to friend me and I don't know you, and you don't have any indication of a basset in your profile or pictures, I don't accept.

I've said it before but I've had dogs all my life and never been so enamored of one particular breed until I got a basset. I am totally a basset person now, and all my friends and co-workers do the same thing in sending and telling me stuff about hounds. There is just something about them isn't there

I have yet to find a cure for my basset obsession. The majority of my FB friends are basset people too, and I pretty much only use my page to post pictures of the hounds. I'm sure the few non-basset people (and probably even the basset people, LOL) get really sick of seeing my floppy dogs...but then, they are already well aware that I'm beyond help anyway.

I have the fan blowing the basset's ears as my computer wallpaper at work. haha. If I had a Facebook page it would have Edee all over it too.
