Not that small Bassets can't be perfectly good as pets and lead happy lives, maybe without the same stresses and strains on joints and bones as those who are overly big and heavy!!
Absolutely true! Daisy also falls on the lower end of the weight spectrum. At 18 months, she weighs 38 pounds. This is what we expected when we saw her parents. Momma was around 40 and Dad around 50. The breeder didn't call her hounds miniature but she did tell us that with these parents to anticipate her size to be somewhat smaller. And I couldn't ask for a more loving, affectionate and smart little girl! |

You have a "fun size" Basset! I had no idea there was such things as miniature Bassets until reading this post. As long as the vet says she's healthy, I wouldn't worry about her. I would post more pictures, however, because she's so cute! Sorry I wasn't able to offer advice, but she's so cute, I had to comment.
