A few days ago, Biscuit dragged a partial loaf of bread from the kitchen to the living room.

I guess she wanted us to make her a sandwich.

Well, I did have a bacon sandwich last night (no L & T, unfortunately). And she and her brother got a little.

Bacon is a food group.

Maggie has me so well trained that I only leave food on the counter-top if it is pushed all the way away from the edge to the wall. This works for us, for now at least, at home but...when I do this in other people's kitchens with no dog around they look at me a little weird. =)

Most people thing a microwave if for cooking food quickly.

round here it is generally a temporary basset proof storage area.

Wow - Maddie doesn't do this at all - she can't reach the counters, either. We do let her help us eat dinner though...

Well that's all our microwave is good for too, Bella nearly got a full victoria sponge the other day, I think she actually got a lick of the cream from the side because it looked suspiciously smooth, but I didn't tell anybody and gave that piece to hubby.

She's my very best friend when I'm baking, and sticks to heel position like glue when it comes to tasting time.

I thought Bacon was just a family thing and Benson was taking after his dad (my OH). Turns out its a basset hound trait. No pork product is safe in our house.
