Default No more owner abuse...I hope

Someone posted a cartoon with the poor person clinging to the edge of the bed while her basset took over the rest....well, I can't do this anymore...I only have a full size bed...Barney and friend sleep across..not up and down. If they are not wrapped around my neck, they are on top of me...NO more!!! Today I ordered two bagel beds...Am I being over optimistic in thinking this will work?? Of course but I'm desperate for some sleep. Does anyone have any ideas on how I can get them out without a major war?

Keep the receipt for the bagel beds, and after you return them, put the money toward at least a queen-sized bed. Oh, and a twin-sized bed for yourself.

Or you can go to the store and buy those risers that they use in college to make beds higher!
My bed was too high for Louie to get up on...and I was glad for that.
Lou never slept in my bed. He slept in his bed at the end of my bed, or on the carpeted floor next to my husband's side of the bed. Often he would like to move to the other side of the room.

I like the riser idea except Cannoli stands on an ottoman beside my bed and whines at me until I let her in bed. I think if it was to tall she'd just stand there and whine at me anyway!

***NOTE FROM ESTHER AND CHARLIE BROWN'S HUMAN***

Please be advised that the bed is just one of the things that the basset hounds own in our home. It is, however, the single most IMPORTANT thing that they own (followed closely by all the food in the house, both human food and otherwise). You are being trained meticulously by your hound(s). Please do yourself a favor and do not fight it. It will only end with your admission into the nervous hospital. It is actually quite ironic that this was posted today, as, I, the ever-dedicated food slave to my hounds, found myself curled into a little ball at the top-left corner of the california king bed. Esther was stretched out a little but she's easily moved. Charlie Brown was about to get his arse moved onto the other side but when I reached down, I gotta handful of belly. I sat up to see what position he was in so that I could safely wrangle him to the other side and I saw him completely on his back, lying diagonally between humans, kinda twitching a little and legs churning top speed as he was no doubt chasing a squirrel in his dream. I said, "aww," under my breath and did what my training mandated I do: leave him alone, let him sleep, and returned to my curled up position, unable to sleep from 4am until it was time to get up and go to work. I've been trained.

I have worken in the shape of a pretzel for the past 17 years now, I have raised the bed, they just rock climb up it. I have grounded them, I still wake up with them in bed, I have locked them out the room, they just cause a rumpus till I let them in.

This week i'm leaving for a 3 night business trip, I always excited at the thought of a whole big bed to myself to sleep peacefully...... that is until I toss and turn all night because I cant sleep without the hot breath, loud snoring, silent but violent farts, paws in the back, face, or wherever is inconvienent for a human and dog hair up my nose! Enough about my husband, I miss the doggies too!

If you find the magic solution, be sure to share, you could make a fortune and take early retirement!
