Hello to all,

I just stumbled upond this site heart broken and searching to bring back the love and magic that we get from our loved ones, the Bassets.

We are looking for another or a pair of Basset Artesien Normand after recently loosing our two of 12 & 13 years.

Also known as a French Basset.

Can you assist us with any reliable information of breeders with in the United States?

We have lots of good connections and info on rescues and breeders of bassets.

It would help to know in what part of the US you are in, and if you are looking for new puppies or a rescue.

I'm sorry for your loss.

As far as I know there are no breeders of actual BANs in North America. There are those who claim to have "French" bassets, but they are not BANs they are just poorly bred Basset Hounds and they use this term to explain why their dogs do not look like a Basset Hound should.

The Basset Hound Club of America's annual National Specialty show will be held in your area in October. If you want to see hundreds of Basset Hounds doing show, obedience, hunting, agility, tracking, agility and other activities this is a great opportunity.

Have you checked the Basset rescues around your area? You didn’t mention if you were looking for a pup or an older one – but either way, rescues have both at times, unless your heart is set on getting from a breeder – and if so, it sounds like Soundtrack and Mikey gave you some great resources.

Where did your first ones come from? They may no longer have them but since they are not common in the US may be able to tell you how to find one.
