I was having a random thought the other day and I realized that I'm really going to miss Lilly as a puppy. But I am sooo excited to see her being a dog, and the crazy adventures that are waiting.

Wonderful pictures.....I agree in that I'll miss the puppiness too. Barney is almost 11 months now and sooooo civilized to what he was...still has a long way to go....but I really love the challenge of the puppy...it's such a short time...crazy but short

We got abey after her puppy months but as I was talking with my husband about our future plans after our kids are grown and they are to get a motor cycle and go travel a bit well with out even thinking about it I said we can get abbey a side car and helmet. So she can go with us! Well my husband reminded me that abbey is almost 4 and we won't be doing any of thhat for at least 12 years.
was a sad realization becuase in my head I picture her being alive and with us for ever. Anyway That last picture of lilly is the cuuuuutessssttt ever!

Winston turns 1 in a little over a week. I don't intend on a 3rd basset, so I am hoping that I won't be getting another dog for many, many years. That said, I am sad that soon there won't be a puppy in the house anymore. He's growing up so fast. On the other hand, the madness of puppyhood is on its way out. It's bittersweet, I suppose.

What adorable baby pictures... sadly, they can't be puppies forever and must become "adults". Part of me wishes you could give them a "forever puppy vaccine".
My Jake is now a full blown adult and more likely a seasoned citizen (9 yrs is up there, but he is doing great, just a bit slower than he used to be, a bit whiter, but he can still be a real stinker) Abby is now 2 y.o. Not quite as manic as she was when she was younger, but still has a lot of puppy in her. I think, no matter how old they get, bassets never really grow up and will always retain a bit of puppy. Age just brings out the better aspects (no more chewing, accidents, etc.) |

Ummm Annie is 7yrs old and hasn't slowed from the puppy madness at all! LOL...not to worry, I think they are always puppies. At least I still call Annie a puppy. The activity level is the same, just in shorter bursts
