I admit:
We are those kind of people! Ever since Monroe moved in, our house is BASSET!!! Was I before making fun of people who collected anything frogs, cats, horses etc - our house is now official Basset state: Any calendars we find, pictures, post & greetingcards - we buy them even though the next birthday is in the end of March!!! And people send us the stuff as well! My mom from Germany ran through the stores of my small home town, asking all sales associates if they have Basset birthday cards! Funny thing: My last card was actually for a birthday boy. My mom didn't even apologize! Her words: It is the picture of a Basset! (And she is RIGHT!!!)
Are we the only ones?! I doubt it

you know you're there when it's not only all over your house, but also has infiltrated your space at work. like the he-humin that has the basset figurine with its leg lifted, arranged all nice-like next to his calculator...

I just bought myself a basset calendar for my desk, even though I had a very nice calendar already that my company had put out for this year. The basset calendar is hanging so you see it as you walk up to my desk, and whenever I get stressed out I just look at those houndy dogs and instantly have to grin.

I think it has been years since I got a birthday card from Mom, Aunts and Uncles that doesn't have a basset on it (I still have and display them all). I even have clients that will send me basset cards.
Just before Christmas, I stopped in a high-end grocery for specialty coffee, stupid store had a basset tree ornament... spent $14 on the stupid thing! (it is SO cute). No offense intended, but you folks ain't "right", just plain crazy (I do include myself in that) |

It's the price you pay for loving basset hounds. They wiggle their way into every part of your life. (And I LOVE it!!!!!) My car is covered with Basset bumper stickers and I'm not ashamed!!! I even have a T-shirt that says Crazy Basset Lady
