Canadian Bassets

Hi everyone. I'm looking for Canadian Basset owners, more specifically Southern Saskatchewan who may be interested in another Basset. It breaks my heart to say that I need to find my Bella a new home. We've recently moved out to the country and I don't find it fair to my Bella to have her cooped up in the house/garage for 10 hours a day 5 days a week. With winter here now, the only time she gets any real exercise is on weekends since it's dark when we leave & dark when we get home. With no yard it means wandering which she LOVES to do, BUT...she'd make great coyote bait. I refuse to just re-home her to anyone, especially someone who doesn't understand the breed. She's approx 9 months old, not spayed, loves attention and deserves to be loved like she loves. Please let me know if anyone can help give her a better life than we can.

Why not just fence off some yard for her? Go walking with a flashlight?

Have you contacted the breeder? A good breeder will take her back at any time. Otherwise I'd suggest contacting the Canadian Basset Rescue Network.http://canadianbassetrescue.tripod.com/web/index.html They have a contact for SK.

yeah a fenced yard and some flashlights and extra long walks on the weekends. there are alot of options. if you rent and the owner doesnt want a permanent fece you can just see if you can put up a temp fence.
