......I'm putting her in bed with me. She starts off in the crate but after the first time up to potty...I take her out then bring her in bed with me. She's good through the rest of the nite. Right or wrong..at least I'm getting some sleep. She's such a snuggle bug!

Whatever works for the both of you. But once she's used to it, there's probably no easy way to break her of it.
If I had the room, I'd let mine sleep in my bed...maybe

I had Barney in my bed from day one...solved some problems but created some too....I now have to fight for any sleeping surface...can't believe how impossible they are to move
. Probably bad training on my part, but would do the same thing again....I tend to take the easy way out and worry about the consequences later.....enjoy her Mary.

He he! I did the same! Haven't had a night where I don't wake up in she shape of a pretzel since! Of course the overnight winter heating bill os cut by half, and there is nothing like those eyes staring at you when you open your eyes!

Luckily I have a king size bed or it would be a tight fit. It is true once you start odds are slim you will be able to stop

You are now stuck with a bed buddy for life!
Upside, in the winter you will be toasty warm. Down side, in the summer you will be toasty warm. Upside, that lazy wag and kiss when they realize you are waking up, Down side, you learn to cling to the edge of the bed for space or contort yourself around the hound. Seriously, I did the same with Abby when training her. She would wake me when she needed to got out rather than soiling the bed. In the crate she would just go. Jake used to sleep with me but when Sophie passed, he (on his own) took over her bed next to mine (I guess it is the Big Dog bed). Abby has the "fun" habit of literally laying on my head to wake me when she wants to get up. Of course, it is effective... 65 lbs. on your head does get your attention, no matter how sleepy you are. |
