Same here - Mabel’s head is draped over my leg in bed – then about a half hour before its time to put her in the crate – we do some major cuddling and I carry her into her crate while she’s sleeping. It’s the perfect way to end a day don’t ya think.

Absolutely.....we have a crate for Chloe and she used it a few nights but guess where she is sleeping again....yep...you guessed it, she is a good back warmer. She can't get close enough at times. I just wish she wasn't such a bed hog. I am thinking it is time to try the crate again. I wish I wasn't such a push over.

But will you fit in the crate since she won't give up her bed.

Yep...Aint nothing better than a Basset snuggling up against you. Maezie grumbles while she sleeps...like she is having nightmares.

There is nothing better than "Basset Therapy".

It is impossible to stay in a grumpy mood after a less than stellar day at the office when your fur-baby is snuggling.

Jake has "trained" his daddy to immediately join him on the couch and rub his ears and belly to soothe away the stresses of the day.

Abby cuddles so sweet on the couch (when she isn't chasing a ball), but she is the WORST bed hog. Some nights I would be better off joining Jake in the dog bed!

I agree, Bassets are the best cuddlers, but major bed hogs. The king size bed is large enough for one Basset and maybe a small corner for Mom and Dad. If they're both on there though? Forget it. They are also VERY good at voicing their discontent if you try to move them (I say "try" because somehow a sleeping Basset has more pull than gravity).

Despite that, I do agree- better than an electric blanket! Like putting a little furnace under the covers with ya!

Oh goodness, I agree. Try to "move" a sleeping basset, you are going to get some attitude. I guess there is a good reason they say "Let sleeping dogs lie" I think they had a basset in mind! The sweetest pup can become a bed tyrant!

I've been in and out of the doctor this week having some chest pain investigated, Wednesday I was so discouraged and feeling really awful, Cannoli came and rooted around until she was laying on the couch beside me with her head resting on my chest. Normally she lays in my lap so this was a new position, I was suspicious that she could tell that's where my problem was. I wasn't complaining, a big warm basset snoring on my chest is the best treatment I've received this week.
