OK, so Tito seems to have less energy then before. He is almost seven months now, so I am not sure if this is normal. Before I would walk with him in the morning he would sleep until 10 then he would play for two hours sleep for an hour or so then need to play for two or three more before being so sleepy he would sleep from 6pm until 7am.
For the past two weeks or so he has been able to go without the early morning walk then after a good walk or two or play he will sleep or chew on a bone happily until 4 or so when we go to the park to play, is that normal...is it bad I am happy with this new sleepier little guy?! |

Sounds like Tito is turning into a Big Boy.... Pais sleeps until whenever, gets up, has a potty, eats breakfast, then has a walk (depending in the weather), or sleeps till my lunch , then drools, sleeps and sleeps some more. Of course she is always up for whatever is offered like a walk or play but loves those beauty sleeps.... Right nowshe has had her dinner and is sleeping. We are having guests for dinner so she may wake up (or not) and will get up to potty then go to bed. If the conversation is to her liking she will join in or not. Now all this changes with the seasons but this is the way she usually spends her winter days!!! Tito is a normal guy!!!

First gotta address the cuteness of your little guy because he is just too cute. OK, now that – that’s out of the way – based on just what you have posted – sounds like he’s just going through a normal puppy stage that’s all. If you’re worried – I’d just keep an eye on him and document what you’re worried about – so if it gets to the point you want or need to call the vet – you have the history on a timeline. But always take what I say with a grain of salt as I’m a neurotic over protective momma.
Is he eating the same? Drinking more? Less? Everything else about the same? – Just the energy? He’s a growing boy. Good luck – and keep us posted – oh, and more photos could only help – us that is ![]() Jen~

Jake and Abby are professional nappers.
Usual schedule... wake Mom up way to early (especially on weekends), pee, eat, nap. (Mon - Fri who knows what they do between 8-5... I would guess sleep).Sat & Sun, spurt of play, then nap time, pee time, nap some more, then supper, then pee, then play, then nap, then it is Bedtime!!!! I wish I got a quarter of the sleep they do! |

Tito is adorable! He and Daisy are close in age. She, too, is a little less active these days, especially in the evening. I just attributed hers to the colder, gloomy weather we've been having. She is a snuggler and if she can be stretched out across my lap and catch her beauty sleep, she is one content little girl. And don't feel guilty about enjoying this sleepy version - I don't! Lol, I'm sure it's only temporary!

I tend to agree, as the weather gets colder the snuggle (and sleep) factor does seem to increase.
Personally, I enjoy it. I am always cold and a basset or two under the afghan with me is much warmer and more snuggly! The old saying of a "two dog night" they must have had bassets in mind! Nothing warmer and more cuddlier. |

Okay, I was thinking it is just the stage he is in because everything else is normal but I am like you Jen, I worry about everything because he is my baby! He does provide a lot of heat which I love he is the only heat source I have in my house!

I've read the bassets do run warmer, actually. Hence the lying on the back belly up pose that seems so popular *lol*
Patito is soooo cute. I love how cute he is. I remember when he was sick when he was really little. I was so worried for him! You could try some vitamins if you're really worried, but it's probably just the slowing down as he gets older. I think Bowser went through the same thing at that age.
