Not sure what they want. They had already eaten.

Obviously, you are starving them to death, they are just wasting away. And the attention front, neglect. (same problem with Jake & Abby).

My two "talk" to me all of the time and I have no idea what they are angling for... "Play Ball"? NO.... "Wanna go outside?"NO.... I NEVER ask "Wanna EAT" Answer is always yes... they would eat until they exploded like the guy in the Meaning of Life! (just a wafer thin mint....)

You got a head tilt out of Winston. At least he stopped eating my hand long enough to watch

I'd like to see one of those Japanese dog vocalisation translators try to work on a basset.

Mine do it while I'm fixing there food. Very loudly. Just the bassets. Then sometimes Maddie will go out into the living room after she eats and woof woofs out there and spins.

My daughter has a friend from Pakistan who is not at all comfortable with dogs in general. She has warmed up to our small dogs but the basset hound terrifies her! That is so weird to me but she can't grasp that all the "talking" isn't aggressive. She always asks "Why is she mad at me"? Cannoli wants to make friends with this girl so badly and all her efforts scare the beejesus out of the poor kid.

Cannoli, i runs into this situation a bit too here. We have lotsa international families in our complex, and some are very frightened of little me! i don't get it. Poor girl who was terrified of me lives across the hall from me, so has to see me quite a bit! then one day (she is 8 or 9), she changed her mind and loves dogs now... imagine! she used to stick to the wall and her Dad even had to carry her to walk past me before.

i guess one trick we used is to feed me treats while letting the kids pet the back end of me. i'm so looooooong that seems to work. plus i loooves kids & i'm very gentle with them.

one kid with autism here was very interested in me and would follow me around. he would howl if i got too close to him, tho. he did not want to pet me or get too close. but sooo interested in me from a distance.
