The whitestuff finally came to Chitown. Left work early to make sure I got home safe to the furbabies and have had a ball for 3 hours!
Bud, Rufy and Eclair have seen snow with us before. This was Ethels first. They were all as mad as hatters, I haven't had as much fun since I was a kid. We have an acre fenced and I'm always weary of lettiing them out the fence loose. Today I gave the benefit of the doubt and let them in the front loose with me why hubby snow blowed. Not one yell, chase or chaperone back to the yard, I'm a proud mommy! Good news is they are all gonna sleep like babies, me and hubs included. I glad there's a Lou Malnatis deep dish pizza in the freezer and left over beers in the fridge., I'm too pooped to cook. Days like this make me glad to be a dog owner, and especially a frozen boobie Basset owner! |

I'm not a snow fan myself, but being here in Illinois it's of course part of the package. My kiddos of course love it. My facebook status update today: You haven't lived until you've seen a basset hound frolic in the snow. MaeMae had a blast!

Oh no! You must be nearby. We are bombarded with snow too. Its really bad when you're by the lakefront. We've had such good Spring-like weather these last few months, I was doubting what people had told me about Chitown winters. (Let's hope its not THAT bad.) The pups have had a ball! Gwen just licks it up. So you get a nice line of pawprints with a lick mark down the middle.

That might not be a good idea because if it gets wet/damp it might freeze to things. When I lived in Michigan, my friend had a pug that went missing overnight and they couldn't find him. Turns out that he wandered over to an automotive repair shop and some how got his business frozen to the ground
(we're still not sure how it happened). Thankfully the nice guys at the shop got him unstuck and brought him back home. He ended up being fine, other than being made fun of for a long time.

UGH! I wish it would turn to snow! We are just a few degrees above that and it is raining like crazy! Windy as can be...
I love it when we get a "real" snow and watching them hop thru it like bunnies, and chasing snow balls... |
