Well, basset friends, believe it or not, this week 1/9-1/13 is... "Be Nice on the Internet Week"......! how relevant!
Be Nice on the Internet Week | RealSimple.com --------------------------------------------------------------------- Poll: It's 'Be Nice on the Internet Week' ? Are You In? - Darien, IL Patch While the Internet has made our lives easier in countless ways, given the public more access to information than ever before and provided endless hours of entertainment, it also has a dark side. I’m not talking about online predators lurking, waiting for their next victims. I’m not even talking about cyberbullying — well, not really. I’m talking about the negativity that can bombard us as we’re surfing the Web; from nasty comments on news stories to critical Facebook posts to mean-spirited memes, it sometimes seems like it’s everywhere. The good news is that Real Simple magazine has declared this week Be Nice on the Internet Week. Maybe it sounds a little silly, but I’m on board with the magazine's “down with rudeness on the Web” campaign. You’ve probably heard them a thousand times — sayings like, “you catch more flies with honey than vinegar,” or “if you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all.” And there’s a reason why those clichés get repeated over and over, as far as I’m concerned. It’s because they’re true. Sure, there’s such a thing as being too nice, but most of the time, nastiness and negativity add nothing to the conversation. In fact, snippy posts and personal attacks can ruin a good discussion and devolve into useless name calling. If you’ve ever looked at the Patch terms of use — and if you’re a regular reader or commenter, I hope you have — they do a pretty good job of outlining online etiquette: Communities thrive when people care about each other, and as such, Patch expects all of its users to be respectful of others. … While we encourage people to be honest and post what’s on their mind, there are some types of Content that we simply can’t allow on Patch. … You might boil it down to three main policies: “Keep it clean,” “Don’t try to trick people,” and “Treat others as you’d like to be treated.” Easy, right?

Aw Worm...I would have loved to be in the same room when you found that. I have a bad habit of seeing the humor in things that probably aren't funny and have to confess I'm still choking over this one..... somebody must have tattled on us.

The show is political they were interviewing a southern man who has a political show where people get heated but he always stays calm and collected no matter how much strong his opinions differ from that person. apparently the hoot owl announces it presence very loudly and the screech owl is the soothing calm one and always keeps his cool. I could learn alot from the screech owl. I agree politics and religion discussions never end well.

That sounds like a good idea Bakin (hey you rhyme with Bacon) ... I'd probably be banned there -- although I only have an indoor cat he sits in my kitchen sink by the hour terrorizing the small birds and chattering away ..... he is your typical bully coz when the bigger birds come like the woodpeckers and jays he just crouches down and hides still as a stone!!!
