Default Walters belly

My Walter had skin issues, (alot of them all over his belly) I stopped the food I was feeding and it cleared up. Now I started him back on the DASUQUIN and in the last 4 days his belly looks bad again. Has anyone had an issue with this medication? I noticed that it has 30% soybean. I am at the end of my rope with his skin. I have spend 3000.00 with a dermatologist and he found nothing.

For arthritis? Since my understanding is that glucosamine is not very effective anyway, since it appears to be causing him issues I would discontinue and see if it clears up. If he has arthritis there are more effective medications to try.

Bowser has a low immune system, and has had Mitaban, for mange, a couple times. He also has lots of food allergies, which makes his skin pink, hot, and very, very itchy.
I've switched him to grain free food...and since found out he is allergic to chicken, and beef, so we've cut that out too. The itching stopped!
For the mange, it is a bath treatment. When he showed spots of little scaley skin, and missing or broken off hair, he got the treatment. I never let it get far enough to be bloody or matted.

Anyway, sounds like a food allergy more, to me. Usually it's around the belly and paws. I know quite a few dogs on here have been on shots, or benadryl kind of stuff.
If you can, get walter on a plain plain diet...like rice and chicken. Try that for about a week...i bet you will see way less issues. You can then switch to like, turkey or lamb or something, and rice. If all the skin issues go away you know it was the chicken, too.
Wheat is a big factor sometimes, also, though rice seems to be fine and low allergen for most dogs.

I did some brief reading on dasquin there does not appear to be many side effects . The only thing I read was that on occasion a dog can have an issue with the avocado in the medicine. Again this is pretty rare but you never know.

How about fish oil, so you feed that. I have a bullmastiff that will get rashes on her belly and thighs and it will happen quickly. I had run out of fish oil and before I got it ordered she again started getting rashes. I got the fish oil and it went away. But remember if you feed fish oil it either has to have vit. E in it or you will have to feed that to.

I forgot to say I know nothing about the med. you are talking about just thinking of things to help with, I guess it's a rash type thing.
