Default castration and weight gain / feeding

evening,

horace was castrated on 23rd december , we only picked him up on friday for rehoming, he is slightly underweight with very visible ribs, however we dont want him to balloon, and as i havent had any experience with male bassets, how long does it take for their testosteron levels to drop? i know the levels drops immediately following castration but is there anything we should look out for. . ? many thanks peeps x

Welcome Horace and your family!

When Hen was snipped we expected him to put on some weight but so far he has still remained a racing basset.

Thats great! The most amorous behaviour we get is when your wrestling with Henry and then dominance / excitement gets in an dhe humps your leg for a second then wanders off to find a toy lol! He was chopped at 16 weeks and is the most submissive creature in the world but its the thought that counts! lol

You'l love it here, make yourself at home, join in some of the fun / insanity and post more pics lol! Vic and Hen
