Default Grooming ?

We have the standard dog grooming brush but I have heard of these "hound" gloves. What exactly are these? Are they a good grooming item to have for this type of dog? I am going to PetSmart later today to stock up on some things and I want to pick one up if it's a good item to have. Kiara seems to be shedding an extra lot lately. Any helpful grooming hints or tips are always welcome as well TY!

I use the two below on my hounds. Lucy has the real thick and a little longer hair than Mabel does or Flash did so she gets the most brushing. I do them after a bath and they’ve been blow dried. Using the FURminator I can get a full brown paper bag out of Lucy – it’s amazing. The ShedMonster – not so much.

The one hint I’d add when using the FURminator – be gentle on them when you brush next to their skin or I can see how it could irritate them. You just need nice gentle strokes and you’ll be surprised how much hair you remove.

^^^ Agreeing with them. I have a furminator and it's just pure magic! I love it, and the dogs get all shiny and pretty afterwards!

Furminator is amazing. I never knew sooooo much hair could come out of one dog though!

I have a furminator from my last dog actually. I didn't try it on MaeMae yet. I'll have to do so. I'm curious about the ears - wouldn't it hurt on the ears?

I did hear about the hound glove thing. I've looked at almost every pet section in town and can't find one. Now that's not saying much since I live in a small town...lol. But I did read somewhere that it's the best grooming thing to have with a basset?

More love for the Furminator. I use a Furminator on my cats and bassets. Best tool I've found so far.
