Default Dognappers!

I awoke to NPR this morning to hear that in the last week five dogs have been stolen in the trendy, artsy Elmwood Village area of Buffalo (where many students and professors live). I'm far north of there, luckily. In one case, a car of four masked men jumped out and grabbed two Boston terriers from a dog walker! I think I would fight to the death if that happened, but it's unnerving imagining three guys keeping me busy fighting while the other one unleashed poor Callahan, but I imagine Callahan would have something to say in such a struggle. While I carry a pocket knife more for cutting needs than self defense, I'm going to look into getting pepper spray to keep on me. I suppose it's a good idea for any dog that attacks us or for any humans at that. Try to get that stuff out of your face when your beanie or stocking are soaked in it you ****.

What is happening to the world????

These people are the scum of the earth.

Doggy GPS sounds interesting though. I've often wondered why such a thing couldn't be combined with the microchip for identification? Is that a bit too James Bond?

A recent phenomenon which is becoming increasingly common is dogs and other animals being "rescued" from their yards. There is a case going on in BC right now where a "rescue" group is facing charges for stealing dogs and adopting them out to new homes claiming that they were "abused".

Wow. That's crazy stuff. My poor MaeMae - she'd just lick someone to death while they stole her if that ever happened. And while I'd fight to the death for my girl, I can't imagine I'd have much of a chance over several people ganging up on me at once. That's just too scary.

I've been thinking about dog GPS. I'm sure the technology will improve in a couple of years where they can get the GPS down to the size of a chip. Right now its a bulky collar attachment. If they slip the collar, the GPS is no use.
