Default MaeMae in Stealth Mode

So I haven't been on here a ton to update. Hmmm....I guess life has gotten busier. Gee - I wonder why?

So anyways, MaeMae is doing great and I will update more at some point. But here's something funny that she does. I only wish I could get it on camera.

So being that we're a daycare home we have a lot of toys of low shelves. One type of toy that we have on hand here is stuffies. Dun dun dun...Yes...it's true...several baskets full.

Poor MaeMae - she's so mistreated around here. I mean, we haven't provided her with any toys of her own or anything. (yes, that's sarcasm) So, since she's so mistreated and all, MaeMae must spend her days figuring out how to get some toys.

So here's a common occurrence around here. We're sitting on the couch watching a movie in the evening. Enter basset in stealth mode. Think Mission Impossible. Deh deh DEH deh. Deh deh DEH deh. SLOWLY she walks in...head down as low as possible. All of a sudden the cow puppet disappears off of the top of the train table. A big ol' basset head is ducking down out of sight. Hmmm...must have just been our imagination. Slow click...click...click...click of the paws as stealthy basset heads for the family room/kitchen doorway. There's a piece of furniture that blocks the view of said doorway. Basset reaches partition and is now completely out of sight. (Cue Mission Impossible music) Da da da Da da da DUh duh. All of a sudden clickclickclickclickclickclickclick. Stealthy basset sprints for the mat in the laundry by the back door with her prize. Oh yes - she's too sneaky for us - we obviously didn't notice!

Love it! I can't even begin to describe how wonderful this girl is and how much we love her. Her temperament is so amazing.

Oh no...baby crying...was going to write more...gotta run!

Okay...baby went back to sleep. He's here sleeping on me...lol...so I thought I'd add a bit more.

MaeMae has started following a "Sit" cue. I feel like this is a MAJOR accomplishment. After having a Corgi, who despite his temperamental issues, LOVED training a basset is obviously a bit of a switch. MaeMae's been known to just look at me funny and walk away when she decides she's done with trying to work for food. It's kind of funny. So getting her to respond to the verbal "sit" cue made me feel like I'd just conquered a mountain. Not that she responds everytime...I mean, kind of only when she wants to...but I know she knows it now at least...lol! We are signed up for a Family Dog class starting a week from today. So we have big plans!

Would you believe that MaeMae will actually run after a frisbee?! I was shocked - how very unbassety of her! She's a sucker for belly rubs and has been known to lay on the mat in front of the doorway in her "love me" pose (on her back - presenting belly for a rubbing) as daycare parents try to leave my house. It's too hysterical! My daycare parents all love her and she's fantastic with the kiddos. She has a separate bed away from kiddos when she needs a break. She's just such a happy and loving girl. We ADORE her.

Anyways, the last several paragraphs have nothing to do with MaeMae's stealth mode, but just thought I'd add a bit more since I've not been on here very much.
