Default Charlie's Daddy!!!!

Hey folks! I just wanted to share this!
Today the huminz took me and Charlie Brown to the BellyRubs Basset Rescue Adoption day to meet all the houndies. Wellsir, it just so happens that my new brother, Charlie Brown, was reunited with his daddy, BJ!

They were both from the same puppy mill (BOO) and were rescued by bellyrubs at the same auction. They're equally handsum we think! Aside from the small humping incident (bad daddy) they got along famously!

They are both very handsome, like father like son (except the humpin' incident me hopes!).

You mentioned an auction - I've never heard of this for dogs. What happens at these things???????

Bad daddy or not - they are a great looking father and son. I love their coloring and it’s a great photo to have. I bet you had a blast. I know I miss not being able to go to the rescue events.

Apparently the puppy mill was shut down by the authorities.
There have been varying stories regarding this incident. I know for a fact that our friend on here, swimming duck, adopted a hound maemae and they told HER that the breeder had just decided to stop breeding. but as we understand it, she was shut down and the authorities auctioned off the dogs in her posession. a horrible situation. we've seen pix of the conditions in which they all lived and they were deplorable. So anyway a friend of ours from washington state helped the wheels in motion and got he rescues involved in the auction and got a lot of the hounds. And that's how we ended up with Charlie Brown. Daddy BJ was one of the auctioned hounds as well and is still looking for a home. he's a sweetie! anyhoo it's the first dog auction we'd ever heard of but figured charles had been thru enough and needed a furever home so home he came!

OMG, that's horrible. Don't get me wrong, at least the dogs are being rehomed but with no screening of new homes how do they know that they aren't going to end up in a very similar situation? Breaks my heart to hear of hounds in such a sad situation, I just don't understand how people can treat animals with such disrespect.

Charlie Brown was so lucky to have found you

incidentally maemae and charlie apparently knew each other, er, "biblically." There's a litter of pups to prove it! *blush*
(he human said, "GO CHARLES!" men...)

I guess they figured that anyplace was better than that lady's uppy mill which is sad. so glad the rescues ponied up!

E~
Charlie is a lucky pup to have you as a sister and be in your wonderful home...he is a handsome guy and seeing his daddy, a chip off the old block....Hopefully the humpin' thing was just like a handshake between dogs.....
