We're having an extremely naughty day today, Bella's selective deafness is very prominant today, she's run off under the gate this morning chasing a stray dog, ears flapping tail high. Brought her back to the field to play again, when she finally came back into the garden she proceeded to munch on something's poo in next doors front garden, I went to catch her by her collar which she duly slipped, picked up the poo and ran off chomping away, then saw another dog on a lead and thought what fun, chased off again. Then came back to eat poo, until my SIL (next door neighbour) came out. Then she went straight to SIL and sat at her feet because she'd come out with doggy chocolate in her hands, so Bella came in following the chocolate.
She's come in full of hell, and has just tried destroying my muddy boot on my newly cleaned carpet, (pah my fault I know for leaving them within the naughty dogs vicinity), she's now looking at me through the french doors and barking to be let in from the garden. If the gypsies don't come soon I suppose I'll have to let her in before she wakes the whole street up. It's going to be a fun day!!

I'm trying hard to ignore all the naughtiness today, she's had to have time out in the kitchen after playing with my daughter got a bit out of hand.
I jinxed it, I said last night to my hubby how good she's been lately, and overnight she's turned into a bossy madam whose totally deaf to anything anybody asks of her. Ha obedience classes start on Tuesday night, might make hubby take her the first couple of nights, picture me being dragged around at the end of the lead as she rushes to meet all the new dogs, me being barked at when I don't reward her quick enough, the trainer shaking her head, good thing she makes allowances for us. When we first started going she told me she wasn't expecting much from Bella, with her being a hound. pah we've shown her really and surprised them all, just a shame that she's not like it at home. Though I can't stand anywhere near my friend and her GSD anymore because all the dogs want to do is play and then the whole class gets disrupted. ![]() I'm sure I'll have some tales to tell on Tuesday when I get home. |

I'd love to know how our Bassets are coordinating these bad behavior blitzes... (picturing Moses pecking away on my iPad after I've gone to bed, sending emails to Winston, Gandy, Henry and Bella...)
Last night I took Moses on a nice long walk, then went to dinner, my mind at ease. ...BIG MISTAKE! Returned home to find he'd somehow reached the (mostly dead) poinsettia plant on the dining table, completely obliterated it. I freaked, called the emergency vet. They said he would be ok, maybe some mouth irritation and diarrhea (fortunately he ended up having neither). They neglected to mention poinsettias apparently are doggy PCP - he was tearing full tilt around the back yard ALL NIGHT, barking as loudly as possible.
