All~
I just wanted to express my sincere Thank you to you all....you have all reached out and comforted with your words and actions. I still ache for my boys, nothing will erase that, but I know I will see them one day. In all this sorrow and loss, we had a little miracle develop...I was told to honor the boys by loving another. I could barely bring myself to look at the rescue sites, how do I pick "one" when so many need and deserve loving homes. I had never "picked" a rescue, Romeo picked us at the Bassetfest. For some reason, a fellow basset lover and rescuer came to mind. She had recently lost her beloved boy to cancer and had found a place in heart to rescue...she had found him on petfinder...Dare I look??? There was something about this face, those beautiful eyes....I had to find out more about this angel....  I contacted a friend thru OBR first, just to ask, "Dare I?"....she contacted the rescue and she was still available....thru a miracle, by the 5 p...they had called and wanted us to come see her. Let's just say it was love at first sight...she was named Paris and is 4 months old...we named her Paris Hope, keeping the name she has had and adding what she brought to our lives......there are moments she reminds me so of baby Woody but she is definetly her own "person"....and the best puppy there ever was.... I know the boys led her to us....there is still 2 basset size holes in my heart, but she makes the house a home and gives us what her namesake is....HOPE... Welcome Paris Hope. You sure are cute and were glad you were rescued by Kristi and family. You will be spoiled and running the house in no time.

Kristi, there is nothing like a healing puppy. They are miraculous. Molly is mine and I think Zoey led me to her, too. I am so glad you are giving yourself another chance with a new friend. She is a very lucky girl to have you come into her life.
A beautiful girl and a fitting tribute to Woody and Romeo - two spectacular hounds!
