Default Barney does not like to be followed

I live on a street where there is always at least one person walking or running. After I ass them with Barey he will continue looking backwards even when the people are not in sight anymore. This started about a month ago. I have no experience with anything like this before so I am hoping someone can help as far as changing this behavior. He looks back every 60 seconds or so whci can be quite annoying especially when it can go on for a mile. He does not seem afraid just loves to turn around and look.

basset I know much prefer to chase than be chased that said turning to look back should not be a problem If this behavior is occuring an a routine regular predictable basis and he is stoping to do this you can try this reward barney for moving forwad no head turn before he turn his head repeat this extend the time he goes before for turning his head however you need to work on a delivery system that works for you that allow both of you to continue moving does little good if you have to stop to treat. This is where having a taller dog is an advantage.

Am glad to know I'm not the only one to make the "dreadful typos"

I am glad it is not a problem. I was afraid he was getting a bit paranoid. I usualy just keep walking but I will try the treat idea.

Hector used to do that ALL the time! He still does but he isn't as bad as he used to be. I think it was a mixture of 2 things that have eased the problem. 1. I gave him a lot of very short street walks daily as well as the park. 2. I think he is also growing out of it.

I understand the irritation though it took my mom 2hours to walk him what should of taken him 15mins.
