Coffee table mere child play, opening the refridgerator jumping up on the dining table and counter. opening the dish washer are the more advanced things that many of the more ingenious basset task performed on a routine basis by many.

When I leave to go somewhere I gate them in the kitchen...I swear that they sit by the window the entire time waiting...nothing is ever out of place but if I should take a nap on the couch, it's a whole different story...it's almost like as long as I'm there, they count on me keeping them out of trouble and will push the limits, but when alone, want to keep themselves safe.

Cannoli likes to get on to the dining table and look out the window to see what is going on in the front of the house. The only window she can see out otherwise is the sliding glass door which looks into the backyard. We have to make sure and keep the chairs pushed in or I will hear her nails clicking on the table. She stands there and wags her tail at me but gets right down when I say "Basset off!"
