I know all of you have your “favorite” things, quirks, attributes, etc… about your hounds. I would be we share some of them…
Some of my favorites…. 1. Watching Abby’s chubby butt go waddling down the stairs (it is SO cute) 2. The chorus of “Aarroooohhs” when it is breakfast or supper time (the way they act, you’d think that I starve them both to death!) 3. Both of them running to the “cookie” jar when them come in from outside from being “good” (going potty). 4. Abby waking me up by actually laying on my head when she want to go out in the AM (also VERY annoying, but endearing). Have to admit, 65 lbs on your hear DOES get your attention! 5. OR waking up in the AM, rolling over to see her with her head on a pillow, and when she realizes you are (sorta awake, she does the “lazy wag”) 6. Jake & Abby rutting(moon walk) with their back legs when they want to play, especially after drinking cold water. 7. Jake, sitting at the gate to the upstairs when HE determines it is Bed Time. He whines and gives you the most pitiful look. 8. Both Jake and Abby refusing to eat their breakfast (dog food) on Sunday morning because they somehow know it is Sunday and Daddy will make them scrambled eggs and sausage gravy (how do they know it is Sunday… they don’t do it any other day!) 9. Jake, the minute Daddy comes home flops on the couch on his back to facilitate Daddy giving him belly rubs. And if daddy is slow, he lets him know. What are some of your favorite quirks and the various ways your bassets have “trained” you? |

Layla will woof at me when she wants me to move my leg so she can jump up and snuggle with me.
I love it when Rosco looks at the world upside down and his lips and jowls fall all over the place. I love how Breezy snuggles into me like she so happy to be loved. I could go on and on but I'll keep my list short. |

I have a long list of things that I love about Yogi but my very most favorite thing is the greeting that I get when I come home. Whether I've been gone for ten minutes or all day, just amazes me how happy he is to see me. You got to love that whole body wiggle and the barking!
One of my other favorite things is sleeping with Yogi. He has to be touching me and is usually curled up behind my legs but he has his whole routine where he bumps me until he is as close as he can get! I also love when he puts his head at the top of the bed and lays right next to me, like a people so I can hold him. He doesn't do that very often so it's a real treat when he does. |

Lightning likes to squeeze between the ottoman and the chair when I'm sitting on them, then slowly move through the "tunnel" while I scritch him. This way he can control where he gets the most scritches. I call it the tunnel of love. Once he's through he trots around the ottoman and goes through again. He'd do that for hours if my fingers didn't give out. And he only goes counterclockwise. Also, when I come back from being out of his sight for a while, he barks at me and it sounds exactly like "Where were you!" And I love it when he's dead asleep and starts wagging his tail. That absolutely melts me. And I love how he smells. Just a hint of cheetohs.

You've already covered several of mine..there are so many. When Barney was a solo dog, he would take several naps during the day, probably out of boredom. Since I got him a playmate, he runs and chases all day long and at 7pm, both dogs will collapse for the night. He's much more content now and to see his tail wag right before he goes to sleep really warms the heart.

I love seeing the face at the bottom of the stairs, the little noises he makes when he's "speaking" to me and the hugs n kisses.
Not to mention the way his entire body/face moves up and down when running! |

1. Wagging her tail in her sleep!
2. When she thinks spinning around in a circle & snapping at her tail is good enough for a "roll over" treat! 3. How she roughhouses with the high school kids but lays down on her side and scoots her belly toward toddlers & proceeds to stay & be so gentle not moving a muscle so they can pet her belly! |

I like how abbey lays on the floor with all four legs tucked under her so it lOoks like her legs are missing.
Or when I'm cleaning and she gets on her bed and lays super still until I'm done so I don't make her go out. Or when she goes crazy and runs around like a lunatic for no apparent reason We have a grate thiong in our floire she is afriad to walk acrossso she tip toes around itit I don't have a rug on it. When she snuggles and sits on your lap toataly unaware of her size or wieght. When she taTtle tails on my children and "talks" When she kicks her food dish around the house when its empty. When the mail man comes the ups guy is better she really hates him. Counter surfing I know its nuaghty buit it cracks me up When we are in the basement and she hears th guitars and only if she hears us playing down there she will bark till we let her come down and sing lol When she has done something bad and hides in the bath tub.
