Barney loves to chase our cat Molly. she is very laid back and used to the dogs so she will tolerate when he mauls her when she comes in. Not all cats are going to like that so that is probably why there is hissing etc. How old ia Abbey. I would bet after the cat tags her a few times she will stop chasing her she is probably trying to play and thought it was so fun to chase the other cat that she thought she would try it at home too.

Abbey is about 3 (ish) I know she had fun lol abbey has stuck her nose in where she shouldn't a few times but even with a bad and painful outcome she will stuff her nose right back in. She cracks me up. May cat chasing is her new hobby lol everyone needs a hobby!

Molly chased our cats since day 1, but now she kind of coexists with them. She was in the kitchen with one the other day and didn't care. Winston is still in full-on cat chasing mode, but he's still a puppy. I am hoping he grows out of it, for the cats' sake. Sometimes they stand up to him and he gets swatted, but he still chases. Such is life I guess.

I draw the line at Winston chasing our 15 year old cat Abbey, as she is slow and fragile.

Aww poor guy so sad when the get swatted I think there is something kitties do to antagonize dogs into chasing just so they can have reason to swat poor puppy noses.

I personally think the cats instigate! Ours do anyway-of our 3 cats one plays with them like a dog, one is alpha of the house and alll the dogs are scared of him and stay 6 feet away or he hisses and attacks them and the last they all chase!

cats certainly instigate
I get swatted on the nose every once in a while
it only bleeds a little. I left a bloody nose print on the glass storm door once.
i still give chase tho. Ozzie the c*t is almost 17 and is not very patient with me.
