Default Advice needed about neutering

I have an appointment in mid January to have Barney and Toby (male & female) both neutered at the same time. I'm thinking it will be easier on them and me if the "down time" is at the same time....are there any problems doing it this way that I'm not seeing? Would appreciate any advice.

Just keep a sharp eye on both that they don't fool with the stitches

Smart idea, if you ask me. Yeah, just watch they aren't chewing stitches and make sure there's no swelling or inflammation. It's pretty easy.

Winston never needed the collar of shame when he was recovering. He bothered them the first day, but forgot about them after that. In fact, he was scared to death of the collar. But all dogs are different. I swore he'd have those stitches out in a heartbeat.

My only advice sounds dumb but check and see how many neuterings your vet does per year. Our vet does lots, private clinics and the local dog shelter.Hen and a friends dog where neutered on the same day. Their vet only did the odd private patient and Harvey had to wear a cone, had pain relief, suffered inflamation and was tender for a while. Our vet called at 11am for us to collect Henry, he was awake and happy, no cone no pain killers no swelling. By the next morning he was back to his usual self. It cost around $130 and that included blood work and from i remember they expressed his glands while he was under.

I did my goldie and previous Basset the same day. Goldie came out like nothing happened. Chloe shuffled out with a look on her face that said what did you do to me!

Both were no worse for wear the following day!
