Default post-neuter swelling

I took Hickory to get neutered on saturday, and everything was fine up until yesterday when I noticed his scrotum was extremely swollen up like a balloon. I took him back to the vet where it was done and he said it just looks like inflammation, not an infection. He gave me antibiotics anyway to make sure it doesn't get infected, and said if it doesn't get better or gets worse in a week, I'm going to have to do a scrotal ablasion. Has anybody had t his problem after neutering? Any advice would be really helpful right now. Thanks.

absolutely. so you would say not to worry about it? it looks so painful. My only concern is that it was fine for a few days and only started looking bad 4 days after the procedure.

I wouldn't worry unless, as the vet said, it either gets worse or doesn't go away within a reasonable time.

in your experience, what would you classify as a reasonable time?

If it doesn't show signs of improvement over the weekend I'd have it checked again.
