Quick question, Napoleon is getting ready to turn 1 in about a month. I was always under the impression that around this time I should switch him off puppy food. I've read more and more that they should stay on it until 18 months, I was just wanting some input on when you guys think that he should be switched.

I usually switch mine over by 1 year, sooner if they seem to be growing rapidly. Kermit was switched over at six months as he was already 50 lbs by then. He ended up at 65-70 depending on whether I was showing him or not.

after 10-11 month I do not see any real advantage to large breed puppy and adult there is not an real strong data that I have seen to support one over the other. If on regular puppy food not large breed I would switch to adult sooner in the 5-6 month age range.
