Default Proper fitting sweaters

My bassets have a problem. Nothing fits their deep chest properly. I have to buy L/XL 20-24" doggie clothing for them and I can never get something to fit their length AND chest.

For example:

Gwendolyn (left) is wearing a sweater that is OK at fitting her chest but is about 4 inches too long for her. She is a tiny girl as it is. Copper (right) has a sweater that fits him perfectly in length, but he's showing a lot of cleavage, so to speak.

Any one had any luck finding a brand of dog wear that fits the barrel chest of a basset?

I thing you are being to critical when it comes to fit of coats etc there is always cgoing to be a gap of four to six inches along the belly chest. That can be eas solved with small piece of quilting cut to an inch ot two bigger on each side of the exposed area you can surge, or hem the edge if you like. And either clue with fabric glue or sew piece of vecor on the strip at the same point the original garment has them The only way to have a custom fit is to have one custom made.

If you are on Facebook look up Howlin' Hounds.......or via internet gotsnoods.com they make custom fit coats and all sorts of basset gear, haven't ordered any myself yet but plan to do so. I know the rescues use them frequently. I have found a couple coats in pet stores or TJ Maxx that have velcro straps at the neck and the stomach......those seem to fit best for the bassets.....Happy Shopping
