Thumbs down He's started to eat the walls!!!!

Monty has suddenly started to become a bit destructive. Yesterday he ate the carpet and today he's eaten a foot long section of plaster off the wall! Previous destruction had been put down to the lab pup (Olly) we got him for company who we confined to a crate and the chewing stopped....until now....

I have no idea what's upsetting him, the only thing that has changed this week is we've brought in dog walker to let him and Olly out in the countryside for an hour or so. This was supposed to tire them out not set of a hankering for homeware! Any ideas/suggestions on how to handle this? He's 9 months old and he still hasn't lost his back teeth, could it be that? A friend suggested spreading mustard on things but the though of putting mustard on my walls really does nothing for me!

Yep 9-11 month is typical for a second teething stage when the rear molars come in I found that stage general worse than the first stage for destructive chewing. Mine
tended to perfere chewing on wood during this stage giving them 2x4 or hardwould biece to chew on save a lot of problabms also consider using the crate to prevent access to undesirables to chew on and provide plent of chew toy. stuffed konk rags soaged in water twiste and frozen to name a few.

Gandy took out a corner a couple of months ago, so he was 9-10 months old at the time. We have scratches everywhere from him standing up against the walls. We are actually getting ready to put in wainscoting.

Gotta be the age...Barney has hit the 9 month mark and only reason my house is still standing is that I'm on 24 hour patrol. Once he gets over these "teenage" stages, I'm expecting a revisit from my original wonderful dog. Maybe????

Oh no, I've got a teenager on my hands. how long will it last??????

He's normally such a good dog either that or he's just very, very sneaky

Just went and bought him a Kong Wobbler to try and amuse him but he's sitting staring at it - totally terrified!!!! he's got his wrinkly brow on

oh dear! My old Basset Chloe when she was a pup ate a foot by foot hole in 2 week new carpet and followed it with a 3 foot tall leather elephant! She was crate trainied at the time, but naughty mummy forgot to latch it correctly!!

It was a couple years of addolecence for that particular lady!

Freeze mini apples! Henry loved to sink his teeth into them when he was teething.
Also Hen has the wobbler, we had to put yogurt drops in and sohw him how to use it for a day or two but find the strongest smelling treat that he cant live without and put that in it ...good luck!

Chloe is 8 months old and likes to chew up everything......I have even caught her chewing on my couch cushions. I didn't realize they start having issues with teething again at this age. I thought we were done with that stage. I have gone out and bought more chew toys for her with the hopes that she redirects her chewing. I hope to have my sweet baby back soon......minus the chewing. She loves icecubes though!!!!!!
