Hi,
this is f/u to my recent post-- want to start a new thread on the topic since we r trying to figure this out rights now. hoping someone will see & know the answer? i hasn't been pukey since Saturday. just now this evening. i started licking everything. i rang the bell to the balcony, and my person said "Good Worm, going outside to puke." then i et some dried fall leaves on the balcony. just one or two before my person noticed and said "Worm! u just wanted to go out to eat leaves!" i had to come back in & puked in the crate, some foamy stuff (last meal was 4 hrs ago). oh, then my person said "Good Worm! puking in the crate so there is not a big mess. good Worm." i's puked. but now i still licking stuff and the carpet. now i rings & rings the bell to go out to the balcony (like a one-man symphony). and am whining... should i be allowed to go outside & eat leaves? or should my person feed me pasta & chicken? now i am making really pathetic cries to go outside. never heard that from me before... if someone knows the answer, please let us know...!

Layla does something similar from time to time. The first time she did it we went in to the emergency vet fearing bloat. Her x-ray showed a lot of food in her stomach but no bloating. She periodically gets "The lickies" and does what Wworm has been doing - although she prefers grass over leaves - our usual response is to give her a Gas-X pill or Mylanta or some other similar gas relief medicine, put her in her crate (minus a bed), and wait it out. Sometimes lifting her up so she is on her back paws will elicit a big burp, and laying her on her back and patting her stomach for 5 minutes sometimes helps too. Mostly though we just play the waiting game.
Of course if this keeps up you probably ought to have him looked at by a vet to make sure something more serious isn't going on. Hope you feel better Wworm, keep puking in easy to clean up places!

Although I read your posts out of order. I didn't see the mild pancreatitis post. Maybe another vet visit?

Yikes Wormie!
Annie has done this before, never figured out why, but (knocking on wood and crossing fingers, paws, ears, etc) it hasn't happened for a long time. It can be kinda scary for the human! This would usually happen at night and only last for that night, maybe 2-3 pukes total. She would seem uncomfortable, lick stuff, eat dry leaves and grass, and then puke up the leaves and foam. I never offered food during these episodes and never withheld water, but she only actually took water on a few occasions. Feel better Wormie! We are worried about you! Update when you can, please

Worm,
You don't sound very comfortable to me. It sounds like another vet visit is in order. Even if it's nothing serious, it's good to have it checked out, and the vet may be able to give you something so you feel more comfortable.

Worm
![]() I find that eating leaves is worse (then mama has to clean up foamies and leaves...and if you keep them down, randomly, they is in your poop). Bowser thows up yellow bile if he hasn't eating in too long. Daisy throws up for just about everything, and if she wants to lick things up, or eat stuff, i stop her...cuz it just comes right back up. She will go around and lick the carpet, lick up dirt, dust, dust-bunnies (usually bowser hair and dirt), go outside and eat leaves, and plants (no grass out back). Maybe some pepto, or some baking soda-water? Poor worm. Go to the vet tomorrow!!!

thank you everyone for the quick replies. as u can see, we weren't sure what to do
![]() a quick summary of what's happened so far: 1. last Wed: throw up lots & lots 2. no food or water Wed-Fri, throwup Fri too after trying to eat vet gave me subq fluids on Thurs 3. since Sat: then eating & keeping food down. eventually normal #2's happened. no drinking water tho 4. status quo till tonite, Wed nite. i had some loose stools/diarrhea, uncomfy going #2. when i came back in, i licked everything for half hour, then finally did hurl in my crate. the licking was similar to what i did last week before i hurled. it was foamy stuff. my last meal was 4 hrs before, which is not a long time (i can usually go 6-8 hrs fine, before puking from being too hungry). i then licked everything for another 1 1/2 hrs. then when i heard my person talking to the vet's office, i was able to settle down. plus my auntie gave me a heating pad for my belly! i's still hungry so ate some rice & chicken tonite. it's staying down so far. we don't think it's pancreatitis anymore because the test came back negative. and ok, ya convinced me-- no leaves or grass for me tonite! we talked to the vet's office tonite. they are 24 hrs & have emergency services so it's good. what else is good they usually have vet techs to talk to 24/7. usually it's pretty sound advice. tonite, tho, we were wondering about it? the gal didn't seem to get that i was sick this past week & am throwing up (again). she suggested there was something stuck in my mouth or a problem with my tooth??? (i hardly been outside doing much cause i been a sicko). anyway, she thought i should try my kibble tomorrow? anyone have thoughts on that? i been on rice & chicken for 5 days now. actually we were planning to stay on it till the weekend & then transition back. but since i puked tonite, my person was thinking even waiting longer? that's what we did last week when i puked? anyone have thoughts on this?.. it it time for kibble now? we hate to ?? the tech's advice, but not sure it made sense to us. cuz last week, anytime i puked i wasn't allowed to eat at all the next 24 hrs or so.

Wwormy,Wwormy,Wwormy,WHAT are we going to do with you? Ok Buddy, forget the Vet Tech (and I would not normally say that,I am not a Vet,Use to be a Tech though) How much of the chicken/rice are you eating at one time? Mom get some Pedilylite at the store for rehydrating,if he won't drink it see if you can get a large syringe(no Needle please) or something from the baby section for giving liquid meds to a baby and use it to get some into him. Doesn't have to be alot at one time just some every hour. Zantec is something my Vet tell's me to get when Vinny is having a yucky stomach. Try one twice daily.Stick with the chicken and rice for a little longer.Have him see a vet if nothing changes in another 24-48 hours. He is going to start to lose weight and we don't want that.
