Default Please keep these folks in your thoughts

A recently married young couple from Montana visited us last fall and fell in love with Murray. They started searching for a basset breeder and brought Barkley home in June. He was 7 months old last week.

Richard was playing with Barkley the night before Thanksgiving and Barkley gave a cough and fell over. He had stopped breathing, so Richard tried to give him CPR- ran with him in his bathrobe to his car to rush him to the vet- crashed the car into a snowbank and couldn't get it out-ran with Barkley the last few blocks to the vet- Barkley was dead when he got there; Richard thinks he died as soon as he collapsed in their home.

The autopsy showed that Barkley had a congenital heart defect. These folks are devastated and in shock. Please keep them in your thoughts.

A very tough situation, as soon as they are able to think straight it is important for them to tell whoever they got the dog from,if it was the person who bred the dog, what happened, they should welcome the information.Well,no breeder weclomes info like that, but they should care enough that they are more careful with which dogs they use for breeding.

Poor family, poor puppy. Just shows how precious life is. I am impressed that this gentleman went to so much effort to save his dog, though I know any of us would have done the same. Bless him.

Yes, so much loss recently. Soon I hope we have a rash of happy news.
