Default Basset Pacifiers

I am not sure if this is common or not but our Daisy tends to suck/chew (softly) on her ears as if they are pacifiers. I don't know if this behavior is a result of boredom, puppyhood, or if it somehow comforts her. Has anyone else experienced this?

Yes!!! If you look in the picture gallery there are pictures of Hen ear sucking! He is a regular, while watching TV. Some people suggest they do it as stress relief, some do it for attention and some people think they do it if they where taken from their mums early. Personally i think Hen just enjoys a good suck! His Daddy hates it and trys to give him a toy but we think it just gives Hen attention so he does it more!

Ah, yes, attention. I think that might be part of it too now that I think about it. We think its funny and don't really mind it, other than the fact that it makes her ear slimy and stinky afterwards! It will be interesting to see if she outgrows it.

Gandy prefers his paw, unless he's gotten some food on his ear.

Default Happy henry sucking his lugs

Hen just honestly seems to enjoy it! When his back teeth where coming through he would actively knawl on his ears and we were convinced he would chew them off, now he just happily sucks and slurps and loves them! I kinda hope he never grows out of it!

Yogi used to do that all the time when he was a puppy. It was so funny, he would swing his head to catch his ear! I don't remember when he stopped doing it. In fact, I totally forgot he used to do that until I saw this thread!
How cute is Hen! So adorable!
