Default What I learned from our first Thanksgiving with Maggie May...

We have so very much for which to be thankful. And we are, of course, thankful that Maggie has come into our lives. My husband had an accident at work back in February and has been home ever since. Having Maggie around has kept him entertained, occupied and very well loved. I know we are all so thankful for our fur babies!

Oh yes, and what did I learn? Pillsbury rolled pie crusts look JUST like a rawhide bone to a counter surfing basset mix.

I've always been a true believer that dogs can help people who need the help most. Bassets have such a gentle nature. I'm sure that Maggie Mae and your husband help each other. Never thought about it but yes, definately would look just like a rawhide. What a smart dog!

I soooo relate to Basset companionship during recovery! I shattered my ankle slipping on ice a couple years ago, my 15 year old basset Chloe never left my side for the 3 months I was confined to the house and wheelchair. She used to wait one stair ahead of me as I went up on 2 hands and one knee and loved to sit on my lap going for wheelchair rides! She passed away once I was well, I swore she waited till I was better!

eclairs mom that's a sad story what a sweet girl you had so sorry.

Bassets are good for many thing's but I'm not, and I repeat I'm not greatful for counter surfing. I have way to much of it and don't know who's worse Turtle or Maddie the two short ones my taller dogs that could reach much more never surf. Bad hounds.

Thanks Herzo, its not a sad story! That gal had 16 years of heaven, it hurt when she passed away, but she had a full life, full of love and care. My mum always says she wants to come home as one of my "kids"
