As quickly as he whirl-winded into my life, Khaos whipped right back out.
Like any good new mum I took my babe to the vet today for a thorough look over, shots and micro chipping. While they were waving the wand over my darling lil fellow .. Before they chipped him.. to explain how things work. Show and tell style I guess. It beeped. Can we say Confused! Very long and heartbreaking story short.. my Khaos had been stolen from his yard only a few days after he was picked up from the breeder. It's unclear how he came to be with the woman I adopted him from, but the police are looking into it. His owners were very glad to have him back, and after him having been gone 2 months had been certain they'd never see him again. A very sad, Grace

Oh man...that stinks. I certainly do hope the police find whoever took him in the first place so this type of thing doesn't happen again.
Your search continues... I'm sorry

What a sad story. I am so sorry Khaos had to leave you. Surely it's tearing your heart out now and I know we're gonna miss him here (even though we just met him). Ya know, my first thought was that he was lucky he ended up with you in the meantime -someone who obviously loved him and was taking good care of him.
I hope you open your heart to a new Basset soon so that you get to experience life with these silly dogs we all love so much. Keep up posted on any info you gain in this story. And bless you, Khaos, and have a happy life.

Khaos came into your life for a reason, you need to believe that. Im sure it was because there is a baby basset out there looking for you to be its mum. Now you need to just find he or she and start again. Tough but worthwhile. Where are you based? I know of a lovely litter of lemon and whites down here in Arkansas!

It is sad but he was loved by a family before and is still loved by them.Someone stole that puppy and probably sold him to someone else, maybe not the woman you got him from if you didn't pay anything for him,but resold to someone. Do not let your pups alone ever in the yard unless you are so far out in the boonies no one can find you. There is always a chance someone will try to claim a puppy you own as well. This happened when I got my first Doberman and we lived in the city.Someone tried to tell me I had their puppy thinking I didn't have any way to prove that she was not theirs.I had just had the inside of her rear leg tatooed a week before so besides her paper work which can mean pretty much nothing her tatoo was her AKC number.Be careful folks there are some really bad people out there.

Thank you all for your kind comments..
So far I don't know much. I had been told Khaos was rescued from a puppy mill. The woman I adopted him from ( $350 adoption fee.. that I wont likely see back.) gave me papers on him. I had lots of proof I came by him properly, so I wasn't in any sort trouble. I spoke to his once and again owners on the phone. They were very sweet people who had got him for their lil girl. I drove 90 mins to meet them halfway and seeing the little girl love him all up and squeal happily gave me the warm and fuzzies. Of course I cried on the way home. Henry's Mum.. I'd love to check out the lemon & whites's in your area, but sadly I'm lotsa states away from Arkansas. I am going to start looking again right away though. The time I spent with Khaos was enough to prove I need a lil furry madness in my life again. |
