Hey All, Just Bailey checking in to say I hope every basset and human are having a grrrreat weekend! The weather in Maine is nice, and me and Fred have spent quite a bit of time outside, playing in the leaves and geting into some mud! Hope you all enjoy it while you can, at least those of us in the northeast, because snow will be flying before we know it! Bark later,
Fred & Bailey ps: Still on the lookout for some yummy new nikes this afternoon! |

Hey Fred and Bailey!
Glad to hear your having a great weekend! We are too, here in Indiana. Its been cold and windy, but yesterday Mom took us to the Pet Expo! There was tons of stuff to do. We came home with a ton of stuff. Mom won't let us have it all right now, I don't think that is very fair, personally! Love! ~Lucy and Millie

Yep, they let the dogs go! Mom got mad (as did several other people), when a lady brought in her dog and then would yell at people if other dogs got to close to her dog. The lady would shout that her dog was "dog aggressive" and for people to get their dogs out of the way. Mom asked her why she would even contemplate bringing a "dog aggressive" dog to an event where dog were welcome. Sometimes, Mom should just keep her mouth shut....
Worm! Its a lot of fun! Its in a huge building, though sometimes the summer expo is outside at a park, and they have lots of stuff to do. They had over a 100 different venders that sold things. We got lots of Bully Sticks, and chews that were really cheap. We also each got new collars, and scarves to wear that has our names embroidered in them. There are lots of dog food companies there, and they give out lots of free samples. Mom got tons of free samples of duck jerky, chicken jerky, dog bagels, and more! Mom says we don't have to by cookies or treats for a year! I don't think that sounds right... They also have lots of contests! They have the "Leave It," "Stay," "Costume," "Shedding" contests, but we didn't participate. They also have a Dock-Dog contest; our friend, Buddy (a pit bull) did that! He got second place! He stood at the back of the "dock" they built and then ran off the edge full speed and jumped as far as he could in the water. We wanted to try the "Leave It" contest, where Mom would put us in a down stay, and we had to leave the chunks of hot dog that were being dropped in front of us. Mom said it was a lost cause, and all we really wanted was a hot dog. The truth hurts sometimes... They also had lots of rescues and shelters there with their adoptable animals. We met Lady, a white Basset Hound who had blue eyes. Mom said she was very pretty. She seemed nice, and the people said she gets along with other dogs. Mom said she would have to think about it. Overall, it was a great time, and we had so much fun! We were so tired once we got home, that we slept the rest of the day!
