Hi Everyone,
Wishing everyone a Happy Veterans Day today. No matter which side we stand on politically, me always feels it's important to support the veterans, peeples who have served, and families that have made the ultimate sacrifice. Sounds like there are a number of military families here. Our cousin is also in Afghanistan right now-- 3rd or 4th time. He can't wait to come home. Actually, he told us that 2 years ago. Thought i'd share this kewl video (at least methinks it's kewl! u can differ), esp w/all the Brits on the forum. My person played this song long ago, from Holst's "The Planets." He wrote a song for each of the planets & this one is from "Jupiter." by far the most beautiful arrangement she has heard. group from Britain-- boys choir called "Libera." Talks about the commitment & sacrifices made. Methinks it was also played at Princess Di's wedding & funeral. anyway, it is beeyouteeful to me, so thought i'd share. ps. the boys are cute & talented. some are fun and funny to watch, like the boy who winks at 2:44.

A big thanks to all the vets. My husband spent 27 years in the air force and I wish he was still with us to personally thank. Military people are an exceptional group of "good" people. Where would we be without you?

That was great Wormie! Thanks for the share!
A huge hug to all of the Veterans (current and past) as well as their families! As many of us know, it isn't just the military member of the family that serves, but the entire family as a whole!

Our veterans (past & present) can not be thanked enough for their dedication and service.
However, since this IS a dog forum. We also need to honor our canine veterans. Military Working Dog Foundation, Inc.: Military Working Dog Foundation, Inc. - Adoptions, Information, Resources a 501(c)3 Nonprofit - Adoptions - Law Enforcement Procurement |

Well, hope everyone had a good Veterans Day & weekend. Barney, sorry that your Poppa's no longer here, but that is wonderful that he gave so many years of service. He sounds like a good person.
and melikes the idea of honoring the Canine Veterans too! i did read an article on military dawgs. yeah, it seems to require super serious training & lotsa hard and dangerous work for them. wonder if there are any military or police basset hounds??? --Worm
