Default Peace and quiet

Many steps must be completed first if I wish to have a lazy Sunday afternoon. First some shopping at the pet store and smuggling home chicken-wrapped Dingo chewbones. Then a walk around the neighborhood, followed by a half hour or so of fetch (or, sort of fetch- if he brings it back half the time I count it a success). Finish up by presenting the aforementioned bones and I have the sweet sound of worn out Bassets, chewing happily away and then Mom and Dad can finally catch up on some movies!

We have a lazy Sunday afternoon down.

Jake and Abby "Know" when it is Sunday. They know Sunday is when Daddy makes breakfast. They refuse to eat dog food until Daddy has gotten up and made Sunday breakfast. They get scrambled eggs and a bit of sausage gravy (only on Sundays, I swear they can read the calendar, they don't do this any other day!)

I finally gave up trying to give them dog food on Sunday mornings. Now its just eggs. Just a bunch of spoiled hounds that have "trained" their daddy. Yep, my husband is puppy whipped.

All I have to do with Hector is put the fire on, he loves to lay in front of it and snooze, so much so that if you make the mistake of sitting by it he will slowly budge you out of the way in a way that you dont even notice untill you see him contented hypnotised by its flames.

Jnfr- you're putting ideas into Moses' head...this weekend it is scrambled eggs or else!

Pricey- That sounds nice, maybe I could dupe my hound with one of those DVDs of a roaring fire since we don't have an actual fireplace...
