Now that I've gotten Barney a playmate, (a little beagle puppy), I'm paying for my lax attitude with walk training. I would mistakenly let him sniff as much as he wanted and we just poked along at his pace. I'm now in the process of retraining him, which I do when I take him alone. My problem is walking them together. Outside of the retraining, does anyone have any tips/tricks that makes it alittle easier. I've shortened up the leashes which helps quite a bit but am a frustrated wreck by the time we get home...and the "together walks" are fairly short.

I walk Barney and my 8 pound dachshund together. Barney will try and cross on front of me to play with daisy. I have him on a flexi lead so so I can stop and reverse his direction everytime he tries to lunge at her. This will get him walking on my right side again. Daisy is really good on a leash so that may be why it works.
