So in the last few days it has finally turned cooler in Arkansas. this has however had repercussions on Henry...
We can no longer have a 'nice' cuddle on the chair, now we must 'nest'.This involves bringing mummy a blanket, throwing it at her and then leaping/ burying yourself in it while trampleing mummy until you are warm / comfy enough to settle down. We must go outside early in the morning with daddy to pee, however instead of coming back to bed like we do when its warm, we now have to run round at top speed throwing everything in the air that comes into our path! Last night, instead of keeping himself occupied at the stables while i rode, henry insisted on sitting to watch me whilst baying instructions at me and the horse! Henry NEVER does this but for some reason last night we clearly needed his help! In general my cuddley snuggley puppy has become a winter weather hooligan! Is anyone else suffering from cool weather madness? ![]()

Funny you should post this! We had our first frost this morning. Silly me, thinking Daisy would quickly go out and do her thing. But no, we walked and explored for what seemed like forever! Seemed as if her senses were heightened by the frost. Every leaf was a new toy. And the mulch in the flower beds there for her chewing. There surely was a menagerie of critters through our lawn while we slept because her nose never left the yard! Thought for sure that she wouldn't like the cold. Can't wait to see her in the first snow. Now she is sleeping on my lap, all snuggled in. So here I sit, unwilling to slide her aside to get my day started. Can't think of a better way to spend a Saturday morning! Would someone please bring me a cup of coffee?!

We never had Eclair until New Years Eve last year, so I never got to see her reaction to Autumn. The geese are flying south, making pits stops in the neigbourhood, so everytime she goes out she looks up in the air and goes nuts barking and hollering at the V formations and the honking!
They must have been in the yard last night-she has found that rolling in the poop is a great perfume to a basset at least till she finds out that rolling in poo equals a bubble bath that she detests!! |

Barney also has turned into a different dog. I could tell that he had a hard time during the hot summer....and it was HOT this year. I agree that there must be all new scents out there....this dog who was fairly easy to walk has turned into a tank with a mind of his own. The deer are all moving around now in herds so maybe that is part of it. Hope he enjoys winter as much as he is enjoying autumn.

Boomer is more snuggly in the mornings. When I left for work this morning, he was under the covers curled up against his dad's back. Neither one will 'fess up to what time they finally got moving.

[QUOTE=Boomer's Mom;121783]I don't drink coffee, how about a nice cuppa tea?
If you and your bassets would take a trip i will happily make both, but if i have to make it and bring to either of you i think it will get cold before i arrive lol
