Default Pleased to meet you!

Hi, everyone! I have a confession to make...as seems to be the case with many others, I've been a steady follower of basset.net for many weeks and it was finally time to put my lurking ways aside and settle in.

I live with Moses, a 2 1/2 year old Hound (his birthday is April 24th and he's a typical, stubborn Taurus!) whom I have had the pleasure of knowing from the time he was less than two weeks old. I uploaded a couple photos, feel free to check them out.

Moses is one of the most adventurous-eating pups I've come across- he LOVES fresh veggies! Obviously no onions, unripe tomatoes, etc.; but, he will chow down on cucumbers, alfalfa sprouts, broccoli stems, carrots, peppers, olives... he even gnaws on lettuce cores occasionally! This is not to say that he would ever turn down the chance to snarf a slice of hot dog if it were offered...

A pleasure finally to meet you all and I hope to "see" you and your doggers often! What kind of unusual, quirky snack attacks do they have?

Hello and welcome!!

Hmmm...Annie will eat just about anything, tonight I found one of our late in the season zucchinis eaten right off the vine. She didn't finish it though. She, like Moses, also really like her veggies.

Lets see unusual, quirky snack attacks. Eyeglasses, remote controls, cell phones. Maggie and Daisy also like veggies.

Hi There! Yummy Veggies! My girls will eat them all day long too! When I took them to my grandparents farm, they drove everyone nuts by constantly rummaging through the garden for snacks. The best day was when they were eating cucumbers and came upon a rabbit. My girls were in Basset Heaven.

Welcome Moses!

Welcome to you and Moses!!! My dogs will eat just about anything I hand them. And of course somethings I don't! I can't think of anything off the top of my head that they eat that's weird. Except for dirt. Virga eats lots and lots of dirt! It's quite annoying when she comes in and lays her muddy lips on my leg lol.

Barney is obsessed with firewood. I heat with a wood stove and now instead of filling up the wood caddy on the floor I have a desk piled high with the logs. So far he can't reach them but in a couple of months...who knows.

Bernie loves wood too! the back porch is covered in sticks and logs and if he can find a board he'll chew on that too. I can't believe how big some of the logs he's pulled up the steps onto the porch. He must have an iron stomach! Silly dog!

It is easier to go with what they won't eat for Macey so far it is three things
!. Mushrooms have yet to own a dog that wood eat them
2. Mustard greens other greens especial celery and lettuce cores are a treat
3. Atomic Fire Balls even thoiugh she is known to eat the occasional hot pepper

tuoughnutteres favorite thing was frozen peas had to still be frozen would not touch fresh or cooked peas.
