Default soothing property of a basset

Today we found out that we have literally been swindled out of thousands of dollars for a new horse trailer by a horible horible company that we thought were legitimate - believe you me we checked into it what we thought was thoroughly before transfering money to them.
Anyway i have been stropping about this for the largest part of the day however have sat down with Mr Henry and a cup of coffee and immediately feel a little better - granted i am still furious however now i have a rather warm lapdog who is making it better! Anyway i was wondering if one little Henry can make me feel so much better, why has noone thought of using them to instill world peace. Is it just me or does your basset make you feel calm in otherwise difficult situations

Sounds weird but I love waking up and rolling over and seeing Barney sleeping next to me and my day starts out very happy. How it ends sometimes is another story.

Absolutely. I have a pretty nasty case of PTSD, and nightmares and flashbacks are common. When there is a basset in the house, I have significantly fewer flashbacks, and Gandy is really good about waking me up when I'm having a nightmare.

lol you know, even when i came home to a cleaned out refrigerator, an eaten bluetooth, and many times the trash can all over the house, he still makes me smile, and there's quite a few things i couldn't imagine having gone through without him!

Daisy and Maggie are so proud that Mikey T used them as exhibit A. They were wondering if he would like to be their publicist.

At 10 months old and a true teenage hooligan I don't find Hector all that soothing right now, unless he is a sleep or sleepy, then and only then I think he is wonderful.
