Default Do they...or don't they????

I haven't seen my little guy in snow yet (got in April) but being in northern Michigan, am wondering how he'll fare in the snow. I'm sure this is a mixed question depending on the dog, but would appreciate any feedback. I love the snow....enjoy being out in it so am hoping he'll pick it up from me. I would think his short legs would be a problem.....are they?

Molly doesn't like getting wet, so I imagine she will be anti-snow this year. Though she was a little puppy this past winter and kind of liked it, I see her hating it this year. Winston didn't come to live with me until April, and we really didn't have much snow after that. He doesn't mind rain, puddles, wet grass, or anything...I expect he'll love it.

You're right - different dogs, different reactions. Always fun to watch them discover it though.

Make sure you shovel a nice potty area for him if the snow is too deep. The little legs do cause an issue sometimes.

Boomer didn't mind it the most, unless it was very cold. And yes, shovel a potty area. We didn't at first, and he would "go" on the sidewalk.

I would shovel "potty paths" for my guy as he wouldn't go unless he could get a little walk in.......think Annie will be the same way.......Oh how well they train us the little legs are an issue, they end up jumping and hopping around otherwise, which I doubt is good for their backs.

This is will be my first winter with a basset somewhere it snows since 1994. Back then, I remember my basset kind of tip toeing through the snow. He hated it touching his plumbing. That was in Oklahoma, and it gets much deeper here. I'll be interested to see how Gandy handles it.

Charlotte LOVES the snow! She jumps up and down and pushes it around with her nose, so cute!

My two don't seem to mind it. Granted we're in South Carolina where we measure our snow fall in inches and not feet. We'd make snowballs and throw them at Doppler who'd get really really really confused about where his ball went to. It was funny! Snow brings out the extremely playful side in them. They'll be tearing around the yard chasing one another.
