Default Update on Miss Jersey Girl

Hi everyone! I don't come here very often but I do try and get here every now and then and read the latest posts. We've had Jersey for three weeks and we are happy to report that she is doing WONDERFULLY! We had her spayed and we took her for a check up and after spending HUNDREDS of dollars to get her in shape, she is almost perfect now! She is flea and tick free and heartworm negative.
Her personality traits are: she knows she's not supposed to jump up on furniture but when we aren't looking she will jump up on the couch or jump up on the bed if I'm in the shower. She thinks that's her place in the house and she deserves to be on the same furniture as we are instead of on the floor! She loves mealtime and she hates veggies. She will sniff out the meats we put with her food and try to get away with leaving the regular dog food in the bowl.
She has separation anxiety pretty bad. When we leave she won't have accidents but she WILL bark and howl until we get home so we have to leave her inside. She will voluntarily go in her crate when asked and will stay there as long as she has to. If we crate her when we leave the house, she is barking and her tail is wagging so hard when she sees us, she is rocking the crate back and forth and it looks like the crate will topple over.
We can take her in the front yard with us and she might try and sneak off but as soon as we say her name she will come back. She will just lay down in the grass and watch us do yardwork.
She knows she's loved here and we know she was so neglected at her previous home so we don't mind her being a bit of a 'diva'. We think she deserves it and we love her that way!!!

Just remember one thing....It is HER house and she allows you to live there! It is the Basset way!

Someone's definitely settling in nicely. That's one happy hound indeed!

I make those collars for anyone who wants one! I can make any color combination you want and even personalize it with your pets name! Let me know if you would like one!

Bessi and Smili both told me that they want one, but I told them that they have to be a little older seeing as they are growing so fast.
