My poor bailey got spayed today and she is in pain. Moaning and cant lay down for extended periods of time. She refuses to take her rimydal tab. Any suggestions?

did you stick the pill in some cheese? that ALWAYS works! if not you may have to grind it up into powder and put it in some yogurt or something.

Rolled in a cheese slice always worked for mine.

Cheese works for us or wrapping it in roasted sweet potato also works for us.

Awww... poor Bailey hope she feels better soon & bro Tommy will be there to cheer her up and see her through this...

other ideas are chicken or beef baby food, or pill pockets... Worm will lick up the baby food and the pill w/it...

LOL Tommy wouldn't eat this morning because bailey was gone. He just moped all morning and then fell asleep. I managed to get her to eat it with swiss cheese.

I've never had a girl react to a spay in that fashion, even without painkillers. I would suggest calling the vet for advice.

Poor Bailey! I'm glad you finally got her to take her pill though. I hope she feels better soon. We always treat tablets and pills as treats for the dogs so they think it's great to eat. Or you could just shove the pill down her throat and then shut her mouth until she swallows. We have to do that with my mom's shepard mix. Healing drool being slung your way from Doppler and Virga.

She's doing better now. Still moaning every now and then but she is able to lay down and sleep. Stiched area looks clean no sign of infection.
