Question about registering Virga.

How old should Virga be before we register her? I probably should have asked this sooner since she's about 7 1/2 months now and she was 6 weeks when we got her. I was thinking of waiting until she's a year old and has reached her full growth. Also, when she started changing color I became even more determined to wait. I figure at about a year old she would hopefully have finished her chameleon act! Should I just go ahead and register her or continue to wait? Thanks for any input!

There is absolutely no reason to wait. In fact, the AKC rules require that the registration be submitted within 12 months of the litter being registered.

Just put the color she is now. They won't take her away if it changes

I agree... send the registration in now. No need to wait... colors change but it really won't matter.

Yep, did ours online as soon as we chose her formal name.

And just to show the true interest of the AKC --- if you dont register before one year , no problem. just send more money

Not just more money a lot more money and a note of why the should let you register. This is why toughy had an ilp $25.00 vs $175.000 hmmm

Well I tried to register her with the CKC (we can't register her AKC) last night online but there was an error. I emailed them and told them about my problem and they said to try a smaller picture and if it still doesn't work, then to call them and they'll try and help me. I hope we get it done soon. We lost her paperwork for a while and just recently found it again. Thus the wait.

If it's Continental Kennel Club, don't even bother. It's not a real registry and their "papers" aren't taken seriously. Save your money and just print yourself up a certificate on your computer.
