i'm looking for some suggestions for our Fred that are basset approved. She likes to shake, squeak, tug, and retrieve.
so far she has her bad cuz which's a hit: we just got her this toy and she got it yesterday and loves this too: and she also has her kong wubba and that only lasted 3 days without needing to be replaced. any good suggestions on new toys for my baby? something durable? Woofus is like a little kid. Buy him an expensive toy and he wants to play with a water bottle.
But saying that his favorite toy is a Kong squeaky ball. He loves it and it lasted about 1 1/2 months. (he just tore it to shreds yesterday). This has lasted the longest by far.

Our two have some Milkbone chew toys from Big Lots. I don't know if you have one where you are. But they love them! They have yet to absolutely destroy one. The only reason we've thrown any of them away is Doppler like to sneak them outside and they get gross from the weather. If you can find them I would go with the blue bear because every other kind has little pieces that be chewed off. And they also have Nylabones. We've also gotten them some Tuff Balls from Petco. I just wait until they get the felt up in a spot and then pull it off so they can't swallow it. Luckily they have each other to play with as well!

They aren't really toys, but Watson LOVES cow ears. You can get them in bulk from amazon... we bought a box of 50 for about $35. They last about 2 weeks, but being as they're less than a dollar/ear, it's not a big deal. He's only gone through approximately ten of the 50 we purchased back in the end of October. I've read that they're safer than rawhide for pups, and he absolutely loves them. We call them his pacifiers! I have also heard that deer antlers are good for dogs that like to chew, but I've never given one to Watson.
We can't give him stuffed toys, because he'll chew a hole and then pull and eat the stuffing. No good at all. He also likes rope toys and nylabones. Watson hasn't quite mastered fetch, but we have a few thick rubber balls that we throw around for him. We don't let him chew on those, though, they are only for throwing and fetching. We also found an animal-shaped waterbottle cover that you put a waterbottle in and velcro it closed. He loved it, but it only lasted a few weeks before he had chewed the velcro out. Toys for chewing dogs are so tricky! Good luck! |

Flash loves anything with a squeaker, but will "kill" it as soon as possible! He too will pull the stuffing out of any toys, but thankfully doesn't eat it. (yet!)
He has a Kong, but is only interested in it when I squirt the peanut butter filling in it. He also loves the water bottle covers. The challange is finding quality toys that they won't destroy within 15 minutes! |

We don't even entertain the idea of getting stuffed toys for the dogs purely because of the stuffing. I don't want to be cleaning the stuffing up all the time and I don't want to have to worry about them eating it. We used to buy Doppler rope toys but one day he threw up and most of it was rope. We were extremely lucky he was able to throw it up. I wouldn't want to have seen that vet bill! So they've get chew toys, balls, and Nylabones! They love them. And they're safe.

Being a huge football fan, I bought Molly a little stuffed football from the dog section at the grocery store. She tore all the stuffing out and I had to confiscate the squeaker, but the rest of the football is still in with all her toys. I bought her a replacement football, but she prefers the destroyed one. She likes toys that she can grab and bring to me, all the time working the squeaker. She leaves them for me in the kitchen when I am making dinner. I guess she thinks I need to have fun too!

Ella's favorite toy is a squeaky ball from walmart and Ringo doesn't like toys too much but he'll play with plush type toys sometimes. Ella also loves to tear the stuffing out of stuffed animals/plush toys
They also love to chew cow hooves or raw bones but those aren't really toys I suppose |
