bassets on rabbits
on 11/6 & 7 we will be running bassets at the Broome County beagle club near Winsor, NY. Just off I-81 at the NY/PA line, the club has 2 fully fenced enclosures for the hounds - no bassets get lost - think of it as a large dog park where hounds are released for one hour to try and find rabbits -- any basset can enter, even neutered and non-registered hounds. ---- more details are on bassetnet.com

Sigh...too far.
Can you hold any in northern NY, nearer to Ottawa?  I can drive as far as Syracuse for a day trip.

We are working on it -- closest hunt would be at Glendale Beagle Club just above Binghamton, NY on Dec 11 & 12
It would not take much to get a club started near you. 5 people and some areas to run hounds are all that is needed |

Soundtrack,
How many others might enter if we moved a hunt further north -- we ran at Toad Harbor, NY for some time. we could set up a hunt near the state line --- maybe near Watertown If there are say 6 people interested in running hounds, it might be worthwhile The hunts are not more than 2 hours below Syracuse and motels are quite reasonable --don't expect luxury, but clean and adequate for an outdoor event -- no indooor pool or exercise room |
